Understanding Pricing
DataForSEO is pay-per-call. There is no monthly subscription, no tiered plan, and no per-seat pricing. You top up credit and each endpoint deducts a fraction of a cent from your balance when you run a query.
SEODesktop adds no margin on top of these calls — every cent you spend goes to DataForSEO.
How calls are priced
Each DataForSEO endpoint has a published price per request, often varying by the depth (how many results you pull) and the freshness (live vs. standard).

What a typical workflow costs
A rough guide based on real agency usage:
- Freelancer running a few lookups per day — $5–15/month
- Small agency, 10 client reports a month — $15–30/month
- Mid-size agency, weekly audits across 20+ domains — $40–80/month
- Heavy batch keyword research (thousands of keywords) — $50–150/month

SEODesktop shows your remaining DataForSEO credit in the bottom-left of the sidebar. Hover it to see a breakdown of spend by endpoint over the last 30 days.
You can also see per-query cost on any result page — the cost is logged once the response is received.
Keeping spend under control
- Use
standardendpoints where live data isn't critical — they're 3–5× cheaper. - Reduce depth. Pulling the top 10 SERP results instead of 100 cuts cost in half.
- Let caching help. See Rate Limits & Caching. Repeating a query within its cache window is free.
- Budget alerts in DataForSEO. The DataForSEO dashboard lets you set a balance threshold to email you before funds run out.
