Installation
SEODesktop ships as a code-signed native installer for Windows and macOS. The same installer works for the Free and Pro tiers — your license is entered inside the app after install.
Windows
- Go to the Download page and click Download for Windows.
- Run the downloaded
.exeinstaller. - Windows SmartScreen may prompt — click More info → Run anyway. The installer is code-signed, but fresh releases build reputation over time.
- Follow the setup wizard. SEODesktop installs to
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Programs\SEODesktopby default. - Launch from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
Requirements: Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
macOS
- Go to the Download page and click Download for macOS.
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Drag SEODesktop into your Applications folder.
- Launch it from Applications or Spotlight.
Requirements: macOS 13 Ventura or later. Both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel builds are provided.
Note: If macOS blocks the app with "developer cannot be verified", right-click the app in Applications → Open → Open in the dialog. You only need to do this once.
Auto-updates
SEODesktop checks for updates on launch and prompts you when a new version is available. Updates are delta-downloaded over HTTPS and code-signed — you don't need to re-download the full installer.
You can disable automatic update checks in Settings → Updates.
Uninstalling
- Windows: Use Apps & features in Settings, or the Start menu shortcut "Uninstall SEODesktop".
- macOS: Drag the app from Applications to the Trash.
Your settings and cached data live in a separate user-data folder and are not removed by the uninstaller. See Where Your Data Lives for the exact paths.
